As much as our industry has leaned into subdued, soft color trends over the past several years, in 2023, Benjamin Moore opted for a Color of The Year that’s a little bit louder, according to Andrea Magno, the illustrious paint company's director of color marketing and development. “We’re just raring to go and turn up the dial on the saturation of color."
Where exactly did that dial land? Raspberry Blush, an unapologetically bold yet warm color, has been chosen as the 2023 Benjamin Moore Color of the Year — lovingly referred to in the biz as the COTY. The color evokes the delicious flavors of its namesake, coupled with traces of both dazzling red and orange coral, according to Magno, who calls it a "charismatic" color that "enlivens the senses". The deeply-saturated hue is the perfect combination of bold yet calming, encouraging us to break free from our color comfort zone. It's a great reminder that we can still find serenity in our homes, even when the colors are brighter and more vibrant.
Stepping away from 2022’s October Mist and 2021’s Aegean Teal, Raspberry Blush nods a change towards warmer hues. “We've had colors that are on the cooler side of the color wheel for a number of years, and now we're really starting to see a shift to the warmer colors,” Magno says.
